Nintendo has announced it is ending support for Nintendo Gold Points and Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers with Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo Gold Points are earned when you purchase either physical or digital games, and you can then use these points to buy other games. But from March 25th, you’ll no longer be able to earn My Nintendo Gold Points.
The news has been met with disappointment, with some hoping that the “randomness of this news” means a similar replacement program will be coming with Nintendo Switch 2.
The points you already have can be used after March 25th for the next 12 months before they expire.
From March 25th, it will no longer be possible to earn My Nintendo Gold Points. Existing Gold Points can still be used after this date on #NintendoSwitch #eShop within 12 months of being earned.

The Nintendo Switch Games vouchers were purchasable for $134.95, and then you could use them to redeem two games from a selection, usually including all the big Nintendo published games. On the page for purchasing these, Nintendo now has a note that says, “Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers cannot be redeemed for Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games.”

Maybe a new version of the Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers will be available for Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games, but Nintendo has shared nothing new; it just cancelled two services Nintendo fans liked.
