The team at House House have revealed how their next game, Big Walk, actually works, following a vague reveal in 2023.

Big Walk is all about working together and communicating with each other to solve puzzles, or just going for a wander in the bush. The game has been designed with proximity chat at the forefront. If you wander off from your friends, you can use a radio or even a megaphone to reconnect with them. It seems like the team has put a lot of effort into ensuring that all the different ways you can communicate and the distances from which you can talk all sound distinct in the game. You will also be able to communicate without voice if you’d like; however, it is preferred that you use voice communication for the game to work effectively.

You’ll need to communicate with each other to go for an adventure and find what appear to betemple-likepuzzles in the bush. It’s highly encouraged for players to mess around; however, the new gameplay shows how you can relax by the campfire together, or disrupt by throwing your friends’ binoculars into the ocean.

The first song from the Big Walk soundtrack has also been shared. Sam Gill and Luke Neher, who are making music for the game as AKSFX, have released the first song,Big Walk Theme (Jumping Voices)online.

“Ever since a track of ours got included in one of the club expansions to GTA Online in 2018 we had in the back of our heads that idea that we really wanted to try writing music for a video game,” says Neher. “House House were so great about collaborating with us on these questions from the ground up with total openness to any idea or possibilities that emerged in our discussions. The only thing that they knew for sure was that they wanted the music to be diegetic — it’s coming out of actual speakers in the game and everyone hears it at once, and of course this made so much sense because the entire game is about hearing and being heard by your friends in real time.”

Big Walk is set to be released at some point in 2026.
