Earlier in the week, Respawn revealed that Apex Legends would be getting Team Deathmatch and that there would be significant changes to the class system. Today, more details on the new class system are being shared, and what perks each of the new classes will use.
Assault – Combat Initiation & Utility
-
Legends: Bangalore, Revenant, Fuse, Ash, Mad Maggie
-
Perk: The Assault class can open the hidden shelf in the ‘Red Bins’ you can find around the map. A smart loot system will provide valuable weapons and attachments for you and your squad on this extra shelf. Because it’s a smart system, what’s inside these shelves will only improve as the game continues.
The assault class can also carry an extra stack of ammo.
Skirmisher – Combat Mobility & Escape
-
Legends: Pathfinder, Wraith, Mirage, Octane, Horizon, Valkyrie
-
Perk: The Skirmisher class will be able to spot supply drops at a distance and will be able to see what the highest level item is inside. They can also track this item and will be able to know if an enemy has picked it up.
Recon – Enemy Intel & Tracking
-
Legends: Bloodhound, Crypto, Seer, Vantage
-
Perk: The Recon class can no longer access ring data and instead will be able to scan a modified survey beacon that’ll reveal enemy locations on the map for 30 seconds. There is a slight risk, as nearby enemies will be notified of your scan.
Controller – Area Setup & Control
-
Legends: Caustic, Wattson, Rampart, Catalyst
-
Perk: The Controller class can access a Ring Console throughout the map, giving you information about where the ring location is going next.
Support – Team Survival & Supply
-
Legends: Gibraltar, Lifeline, Loba, Newcastle
-
Perk: All Support class characters now access the second shelf inside the ‘Blue Bins,’ which was previously only accessible by Lifeline. These items have a smart system behind it now to help you get the healing or other survival items you may need.
Support class characters can also use the crafting stations to craft fallen allie banners, even expired ones.
Legends Changes
-
Seer & Bloodhound – Scan Meta Nerf
Seer’s frequency of his ultimate is being reduced, and how good his heartbeat sensor is and how it works is also being changed, so you’re unable to spam it for free information. It’ll also let enemy players know when a Seer heartbeat scan has hit them.
Bloodhound is having their abilities moved back to be more about tracking rather than just scanning. Their ultimate will no longer speed up or refresh their tactical recharge. Instead, you’ll be able to spot an ethereal white raven that, when scanned or interacted with, will fly in the direction of the nearest enemies.
-
Wraith & Pathfinder – Buffs
Wraith can now place her portal twice as far as before, and she will speed up as she travels with her portal. Pathfinder, similarly, will now be able to shoot his zipline further, and you’ll move faster when travelling on it.
-
Horizon – Nerf
Your accuracy will now be decreased while shooting on her gravity lift, but her lift speed has been increased.
-
Mirage & Lifeline – Buffs
After reviving, Mirage and his ally will remain cloaked for a few seconds. Bamboozle has been updated now so that when an enemy shoots a clone, they’ll be marked for a brief time so you and your whole squad can spot them. Lifeline will start her revive much faster, and the drop speed of her package has been increased.
That’s the massive changes coming to the Class and Legends for Season 16 of Apex Legends. What do you think? Let me know in the comment section if there are some exciting things here or if you’re disappointed with anything.
