San Diego Comic-Con Trailer Round Up - Day 4

by Ashley Hobley

San Diego Comic-Con is done and a bunch of trailers for a heap of nerdy properties have dropped. Unfortunately, we can't do our regular reacts this week, which you can normally see live on Twitch or later on Youtube. But check out my thoughts on some of the big trailers from Day 4 of Comic-Con below as well as some I may have missed.

RIVERDALE SEASON 3

Not a lot to go on with this one. A lot of Season 2 footage, which you have to expect, they've only shot a couple of new episodes. There aren't many clues as to what is going to happen in season 3 other than that Archie is going to get out of jail. There is that final shot of Betty's niece and nephew being held over a fire like some sort of fire cult sacrifice that could be interesting.

ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO

This does nothing for me. It looks like a generic CW drama but with aliens.

DEADLY CLASS

I've read the first volume of the series and know enough to be interested but this trailer didn't get me more hyped for the series. The concept is good but this trailer didn't really showcase it.

MARVEL RISING: INITIATION

This looks alright. The cast of characters seem interesting - Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl and Spider-Gwen are all current fan favourites. As a Young Avengers fan, its cool to see Patriot in this, though I doubt he will have a similar story arc as the comics. Probably not going to check this out but I'm happy its out there.

THE PURGE (TV SERIES)

Nope. I have no interest in this other than how they are going to have a 10 episode season around 1 night. I'll admit that some of the imagery in this is eyecatching but I would rather not spend my free time on this.

THE DRAGON PRINCE

Another teaser that gives us pretty much nothing. Not in love with the animation style but I;m not sure exactly why. The ties to Avatar: The Last Airbender means this has my attention and the last shot of the dragon looked great.

ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL

Looks better than the last trailer they released. Don't know if the eyes look better or I just expected them this time around. This looks like it will be a bit of fun.
