Let’s look at the Australian Box Office results from Thu 19th Jun 2025 – Wed 25th Jun 2025.
28 Years Later has debuted to $3.3M, which is okay numbers, but probably lower than we’d like to see in hopes of building towards the third film in this trilogy getting greenlit. Sony is having success elsewhere with Karate Kid: Legends, which continues to gross nearly a million dollars each in its last couple of weeks in theatres.
However, it is, of course, the story of animated and live-action remakes, with How to Train Your Dragon (2025) taking in $6.3 million last week and now sitting at $14.6 million cumulatively. It’ll look to follow in the path of Lilo & Stitch, which has taken a huge $1.38M in its fifth week, now at $27.72 million and looking to push to $30M.
