The first trailer for The Conjuring: Last Rites sets up what is being set up to be the final film for the duo of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga playing the real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

This looks to me like taking things full circle. Although it’s set in 1986, the furthest film in ‘The Conjuring Universe’ timeline, it’s also tying things back to the first case the Ed and Lorraine took on when they were younger. A demon that scared them so much that they ran, and now it’s caught up with them and seems to be targeting their daughter once it gets a sniff of her and the duo investigators.
