Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy Adds HDR + New Level
The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has released on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam for the first time sporting some new features that PS4 (where the game has been available since June 2017) owners can download today.
PS4 owners can download a patch available today that will enable HDR visuals on all PS4's with a compatible TV. The added HDR features are an added visual delight to the games 4K resolution already available on PS4 Pro.
Additionally, load times have been reduced substantially with Vicarious Visions new 'Nitro Loading Technology.' Kyle Martin, a Producer at Vicarious Visions explained the update on the PS Blog. "With this new loading behaviour, the game will start loading level content into memory predictively while you play, in addition to dynamically keeping the most frequently used asset in memory."
You can download two new levels off the PlayStation Store free of charge. The first, Stormy Ascent is the previously unfinished level for Crash Bandicoot which is available again after having been previously available and then removed. It is quite a difficult stage and can be found on the atop the final island next to the final boss stage.
Future Tense is a brand new level developed by Vicarious Visions for Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped and is challenging, but not as ridiculous as Story Ascent. You can find an elevator platform in the level select area to take you to this new stage.
With the release of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam, the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy is available for the first time (alongside the DLC) to play on platforms alongside the PlayStation house and it is a great time to be a fan of the bandicoot.
