by Dylan Blight
Developer Asobo Studio with publisher Focus Home Interactive has released the full gameplay demo that they showed behind closed doors at E3 2018 for A Plague Tale: Innocence.
Set in 1349, A Plague Tale has you working your way through the plague-ridden territories of France. Most impressive in the gameplay is the swam of the rats who appear in thousands and the disgustingly destroy everything in their path including alive humans, and a horses carcass.
The game also looking quite pretty with good lighting effects showing off as the means to ward off the terrors that crawl on every inch of the ground.
The description for A Plagues Tale: Innocence describes a brutally dark and gruesome France:
'The story of A Plague Tale begins in 1349. Rats swarm in uninterrupted waves throughout the territory of France. In the plague-ridden villages, countryside and battlefields, this uncontrollable and voracious mass advances relentlessly. The creatures devour everything in their path, men and animals alike, to satisfy the endless hunger of their ever-increasing numbers. In the midst of hundreds of piled corpses, hordes of rats teem over the bodies and leave little hope for Amicia and Hugo to escape with their lives - the faint glow of the flame Amicia holds appears to be the only thing that repels A Plague Tale: Innocence’s swarming menace.'
A Plague Tales: Innocence is releasing on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2019. You can check out the 16-minute gameplay video below.
