‘Ghostwire: Tokyo’ is the new game from The Evil Within Developer
The Evil Within developer, Tango Gameworks has announced a brand new game during the Bethesda E3 Conference called GhostWire: Tokyo and it looks pretty darn cool.
In the trailer — which has near life-like CGI — we see what appears to be ordinary Tokyo, Japan. People are wandering the streets, eating dinners, shopping and all seems good until people just start disappearing, kinda like the HBO show The Leftovers, except this turns more freaky. An assortment of creepy creatures start appearing and then a hooded figure that looks like Hawkeye from Avengers: Endgame appears. They seem to be fighting the creatures and using supernatural powers of their own to fight back the supernatural creatures and otherworldly beings taking up the streets of Tokyo.
It was all very cool, but obviously the lack of gameplay leaves something to desire. The Youtube description for the trailer does however give some more hints about the game.
“After strange disappearances hit Tokyo’s population, it’s up to you to uncover the source and purge the city of a strange, new evil. Armed with your own mysterious spectral abilities, you will face down the occult, unravel conspiracy theories and experience urban legends like never before. Don’t fear the unknown. Attack it.“
