Original Xbox and Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility Not Getting New Games Added

Amongst all the news coming out of E3 this week, you may have missed something coming to an end as Microsoft announced that no more Xbox or Xbox 360 backwards compatible titles would be added to what was the ever-growing list of games available.

Project Scarlet — the next Xbox — was officially announced to be coming late holiday 2020 and with that, the team that worked on bringing original Xbox and 360 games to the Xbox One, will now switch gears to make sure all your Xbox One games will run on the future console.

Xbox did release the list of final games coming in the final update to Xbox Backwards Compatibility which is below.

Xbox:

  • Armed and Dangerous

  • Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb

  • Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy

  • Tom Clancy’s Splinter Call

  • Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

  • Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

  • Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent

  • Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict

Xbox 360:

  • Asura’s Wrath

  • Battlefield 2: Modern Combat

  • Enchanted Arms

  • Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

  • Far Cry Classic

  • Far Cry Instincts Predator

  • Infinite Undiscovery

  • Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie

  • Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands
