'Reigns: Games of Thrones' Revealed For October 2018
by Dylan Blight
A combination that makes perfect sense; developer Nerial have teamed up with HBO to reveal Reigns: Games of Thrones which will be released for Steam, iOS and Android in October 2018.
Nerial has released two games previously in the series so far, Reigns and its sequel, Reigns: Her Majesty which was released in December 2017. The core gameplay is simple to grasp, hard to master. You are presented cards as you control the King or Queen in each game and you simply swipe the card left or right to give a different answer (like Tinder, yes.) Examples can be a townsperson asking for more food, or one of your loyal advisors giving you advice you can choose to accept or ignore. If your King or Queen makes too many wrong or right choices however you'll be assassinated, killed in a mob etc. The game then has you take control of the next heir to the throne.
It's a franchise match made in heaven for Game of Thrones with it's multitude of characters and King or Queen politics. You'll be able to play out many diffeent variations of who's sitting on the throne, which will be fun for fans of the franchise looking for alternative history to explore.
Reigns: Game of Thrones also looks to add some new additions to the franchise including the ability to rip up a characters card if you become sick of them, and give you mini-games to partake in including jousting and tavern brawls.
Reigns: Game of Thrones is releasing in October 2018 on Steam, iOS and Google PlayStore. You can check out the reveal trailer below.
