The Game Awards Are Searching For ‘Global Gaming Citizens’ Nominees

by Dylan Blight

The Game Awards will be returning on December 6th for its 5th annual show, and this year they’re taking nominees for ‘Global Gaming Citizens.’

The description from the submission form reads as follows:

The Game Awards and Facebook Gaming are looking for inspiring stories of people using the power of games to build community. We want to hear about gamers, game developers, or anyone from anywhere in the world with a unique story of using games to bring about positive change.

Teaming up with the directors of Indie Game: The Movie, Lisanne Pajot and James Swirsky it appears The Game Awards are looking to put together some sort of media element celebrating individuals who are doing great things in the gaming community later this year at The Game Awards 5th show.

Previously the show has handed out the ‘Trending Gamer’ award with last years winner being the popular Twitch Streamer streamer Dr Disrespect.

This new award allows anyone to nominate those who may not have the numbers in social media platforms to win the ‘Trending Gamer Award.’ Hopefully, it can spotlight some people doing great things in the industry and tell their stories.

If you think you know someone who fits the criteria, you can fill out the form here. Entries close on September 19th.
