The Player 2 Charity Marathon 2018 Supporting Terry Campese Foundation

by Dylan Blight

The team at Player.net.au are putting on a big live stream charity event this coming Saturday in support of the Terry Campese Foundation with big prizes to be won by donating to the great cause.

Up for grabs are over 200 items including recent releases like Spider-Man, NiER Automata Become As Gods and collectors editions for Mafia 3, Watch Dogs 2, Assasin's Creed: Origins plus many more. There's also a nice collection of misc items including soundtracks and a Pip-Boy up for grabs and all you have to do for a chance to win one is donate $2 or more.

Matt Hewson, editor of Player 2 considers it an hour to help out such a great cause and hopes that the Player 2 charity event shows you don't need to a huge internet presence to make a difference where it counts.

“At Player 2, we often lament the lack of positive coverage our favourite hobby receives
from mainstream media, so we feel it is our responsibility to lead by example. We are a small site in the grand scheme of things, but as we have shown previously our size doesn’t stop us from helping out in a meaningful way. The Terry Campese Foundation is a charity that aims to help those who are struggling in life, be it from illness or poverty, and that is something I feel we can all get behind”

The Terry Campese Foundation works to help young people aged 12-25 for whatever their issues may be as described on their website below:

Working independently, and by also supporting individuals and organisations already working with young people experiencing disadvantage, TCF’s focus is on building on the Strengths and Opportunities of these young people while providing tools to combat their apparent Weaknesses and Threats.

The event will run for 24 hours from 10 AM AEST on Saturday the 15th of September until 10 AM AEST the next day on the Player2AU Twitch channel.

If you forget how to find your way there, the Explosion Network Twitch channel will be hosting Player 2 for the duration of their stream, before kicking into our own charity stream at 12 PM AEST on Sunday.
