Revealed today during the Nintendo Direct was a new controller for the Nintendo Switch… well, an old controller — the Nintendo Entertainment System controller.

A set of NES controllers will be able to play the assortment of NES games that will be available for members of Nintendo’s online system which launches September 19th.

The good news it the controllers look very cool. The bad news is they’re going to cost you $79.95 AUD along with being a member of Nintendo Switch Online.

That’s right, if you planned on picking this up as a collector's item, they are indeed exclusive to subscribers to the online service.

Nintendo may have ended their online service trailer segment today teasing ‘more information coming soon’ when it came to exclusive offers for the service, but this appears to be the first exclusive offer.

Are you going to be picking up a set of these along with your subscription to the Nintendo Switch Online service?
