THQ Nordic have announced they have acquired the Kingdoms of Amalur IP from 38 Studios.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was an action-RPG released in early 2012 to critically great reception on PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows. Although it didn't sell as well as hoped, it has retained love from fans for years since its release.

38 Studios was working on an MMO, Project Copernicus, which was set in the Amalur Universe and had hopes Reckoning would introduce people to the world ahead of the MMO's release. Unfortunately, the company went through a very public and sad bankruptcy in 2012.

A Kingdoms of Amalur game would fit nicely among THQ Nordic's current roster of titles. If you haven't seen Reckoning before, you can check out the gameplay trailer for the game below.
