Dylan’s Rating: 👍👎

At the end of the trailer for Patrick, it introduces the social hashtag #PugActually for the film and with that, I pronounce this movie a glorified romantic hit for 2019.

I thought Patrick looked entertaining and a little silly fun, but I have to admit I love pugs and I’m probably won over rather easy with this one. Yes, it looks silly and like a lot of romantic comedies we’ve all watched before and of course the plot is going to be very predictable, but from what I saw in this trailer Beattie Edmondson as Sarah looking charming and with a cute pug running amuck, I’m probably down for a Sunday arvo rom-com.

Ashley’s Rating: 👍👎

It’s fine. Super cookie cutter story and premise. Beattie Edmondson does have some charm about her that lifts this up a bit and the dog is cute. It is odd to see Ed Skrein in a rom-com role after I had last seen him as the villain in Deadpool. Also, was ‘Pug Actually’ its original name because that is much better and less bland than Patrick.
