Ashley’s Rating: 👍👍

The more I see of this film, the more excited I get. It is easily one of my most anticipated films of the year and I wouldn’t call myself an Elton John fan.

This trailer does a good job of setting up the film and character of Elton and give us a glimpse at the spectacle and fantasy elements that will be in the film. That shot of a kid in a astronaut suit playing a tiny piano underwater is very evocative. You should also check out the featurette they put out that shows Taron Egerton actually singing the songs. A jab at Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody?

Dylan’s Rating: 👍👍

I'm not the biggest Elton John fan, but I'm really looking forward to this and Elton's story being told on the big screen.

The trailer does a lot of work to set-up to more showman aspect of his life, but you also see hints at the darker stuff including Elton's personal life and drug use.

Taron Edgerton looks great in this role and with the promotion focusing on him ACTUALLY singing and Dexter Fletcher directing — who came in to finish Bohemian Rhapsody — it's hard not to see the biopic war happening here. And hey, we also have that Motley Crue film coming this year too.
