Dov Kornits, director of Screen Inc. spoke about the new initiative, saying:

“Historically, romance is one of the most popular genres on film, on television, and in print. We want to tap into that, providing local audiences with some of the best homegrown examples of the romance genre and to be able to enjoy these films with like-minded lovers of the genre.”

The first film to join The Romance Club is It Only Takes a Night, which is the directorial debut of Callan Durlik (writer of Crazy About You (2019)) and stars The 100’s Eliza Taylor, who also serves as a producer on the film.

“Set in London, in one night, four girlfriends will have their hearts broken and mended again. Before the sun rises, they will drink, dance, make love and end up in the hospital…as all life-changing nights tend to go. Also starring Sana’a Shaik, ‘Ana Ika, Arielle Carver-O’Neill, and George Pullar, It Only Takes a Night is an effervescent character-based romcom that will make audiences laugh and cry and is the perfect film to launch The Romance Club.”

It Only Takes a Night had its debut in cinemas over August 15 & 16. Other films in The Romance Club will be released through 2023 and 2024.

An unexpected romance blossoms between the two, but will the reveal of Ethan’s true identity threaten their chance at love?
