Adventures in a galaxy far, far away, to the continued adventure and struggles of Senua, to the trip of a lifetime for Ichiban in Hawaii. This year, our picks for the best game soundtracks take us around the globe and the galaxy in a mix of songs and vibes that take us deep within their game’s respective universes.
Here are our picks for the best video game soundtracks from 2024.
5.) Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth
With a turn-based game, music helps greatly to get hyped up for encounters as you decide what moves you are going to use, and the score to Like a Dragon: Infiinte Wealth does that in spades. The music in the game always complements the various cutscenes very nicely, and great achievement given the various types of tone this game takes at different times.

4.) Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws nailed the music and sound design of Star Wars. From new themes to remixes and things based clearly on previous works within the Star Wars universe, there’s undoubtedly a high-calibre Star Wars soundtrack here that delivers.

3.) Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2
There’s one thing I simply don’t believe can be debated about Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, no matter your thoughts on the game itself: the soundtrack is sensational. You’ve never heard Nordic music like this — scratch that, music like this in a video game ever before. There are so many highlights, but just listen to anything from the Druagar fight and feel the shivers down your spine.

2.) Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth
The Final Fantasy games have earned a reputation of having epic gaming scores and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth continues that trend. With the score primarily consisting of arrangements from the original game by Nobuo Uematsu, a variety of genres are represented but all enhance your experience in your battle against Shinra and Sephiroth.

1.) Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Prince of Persia titles have been around for a long time, the latest instalment carries a beautiful soundtrack with it. With a blend of modern and Middle Eastern music that perfectly encapsulates the rich and fast-paced gameplay. The music reflects the game’s duality of mystical and ancient themes while also enhancing the game’s high energy and acrobatic stylings. The music transcends the game and is great for adding atmosphere to even the most mundane of tasks.
