This year’s UploadVR Showcase was massive, featuring well over sixty games. Once again, proving every naysayer of VR that there are more than enough VR games in development and for a wide variety of platforms.
Much like in previous years, there are A LOT of shooting games in the showcase, and there are more than a couple of battle royals. However, a few genres are represented here that we only sometimes see, including a very relaxing game about making tea that stood out to me as a VR exclusive. Also, a few mixed reality games are double that of any previous year’s shows.
Here are all the trailers and news from this year’s UploadVR Showcase.
Little Cities – Sandbox Update
A sandbox update for Little Cities will allow you to build your own islands and cities into the game.
Dead Hook
Kill many demons in Dead Hook when the game releases on June 29 for Meta Quest 2.
Stack
Stack features all-for-one Deathmatch and 5v5 Team Deathmatch. Developer Joy Way also revealed that the game will be free for those who play in the open beta. Strack will release on June 22 Meta Quest 2.
Stride: Fates
A story mode update will be coming to Stide later this year.
Arcade Legend
You are the owner of an arcade in Arcade Legend, where you can play with friends or solo in classic arcade games.
Shootout
In closed testing now on Quest 2 and Quest Pro, Shootout is a new team shooter with an interchangeable weapon system.
David Slade Mysteries Case Files – Definitive Edition
Discover the truth of your sisters’ death in David Slade Mysteries: Case Files, which is out now on Meta Quest 2, Pico 4 and Steam VR.
Walkabout Mini Golf
There’s more content coming to Walkabout Mini Golf, and one of those is a new partnership with Exploding Kittens co-creator, which will bring “fox hunts” to the game.
Coaster Mania – Mixed Reality Update
A CoasterMania update will add mixed reality support, which will let you behind and ride your roller coasters in and around your home.
Peaky Blinders The King’s Ransom
Developers at Maze Theory revealed that Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom would be getting new content, both story and mini-games. In a new mode coming later in 2023, players will be able to together in the Garrison Pub and play and hang out together.
Toss
Monkey game, Toss was already confirmed for PC VR, but this new trailer revealed the game would be coming to PS VR2 and Meta Quest later this year.
I Expect You To Die 3
Schelle Games released the opening credits sequence for I Expect You To Die 3 ahead of the game’s release later this year on all major VR platforms.
Atlas Endgames
Atlas Endgames is a new battle royale gay coming to Meta Quest and Steam VR in 2023.
Genotype
A quick look here, but a teaser for Genotype reveals the sci-fi world you’ll be exploring to solve a mystery.
The Events At Unity Farm
Titan1Studios announced their very ambitious sounding The Events at Unity Farm. The game will feature a huge open-world combat that is “souls-inspired” and a Horde mode that features PVeP.
Snow Wars
Snowball fight your way with and against friends in Snow Wars when it releases in October.
Tin Hearts
Tin Hearts will get a PC VR and PS VR2 release soon.
Mindset
Mindeset is a new hand-tracking puzzle-solving game from Carbon Studio.
VoxSys
A new co-op shooter from VR Storm Studio will be released in Early Access first on PC VR and Meta Quest 2 later this year.
We Are One
Following up on its release from two weeks ago, We Are One is getting an update that’ll add record loops so you can watch them back and share them.
Vail VR
A new shooter is coming to Meta Quest 2, and an open alpha test is coming soon.
Crumbling
Fight with action figures in dioramas in this rogue-like coming to Meta Quest 2.
HappyFunland
There’s nothing like a classic haunted abandoned amusement park, and HappyFunLand is ticking all the boxes fans of the horror genre would want.
Madison VR
A new trailer for MADiSON VR showcases the improved visuals you’ll get to experience when the game releases on PS VR 2 and PC VR this Halloween.
Mecha Force
The latest trailer for Mecha Force showcases the story and the world.
Pneumata
You play detective in Pnumata, looking to uncover the secrets behind missing tenants in Clover Hill.
Tennis On Court – PS VR2 Release Window
Explore the interiors and head to the court with the ball and racket in hand to play Tennis On Court, which is coming to PS VR2 later this year.
Outta Hand
The team behind Of Bird and Cage, developer Capricia Productions is releasing Outta Hand, a new fast-paced platforming game in which you play as a blue blob.
Barbaria
Barbaria was released earlier this year on Meta Quest and PS VR2, and it’ll now release on PS VR2 in the next couple of months.
Inverse
Inverse is a 4v1 asymmetrical survival horror game now available on Meta Quest.
X8
A new game overview trailer for X8 introduces the heroes of this 5v5 shooter.
Gazzlers
Gazzlers is an on-rail rogulite with a unique art style, and it’s coming to Meta Quest 2, Pcio 4, PC VR and PS VR2 later this year.
Contractors Showdown
This isn’t much of a trailer, but Contractors Showdown is a battle royale that’s planned to release in 2024.
Throwback
This on-rails action-arcade game is coming to PS VR2 in early 202, and Meta Quest and Pico will follow.
Paint The Town Red
A VR version of Paint the Town Red has been announced for Meta Quest, PS VR2 and Steam VR for early 2024.
Pixel Ripped 1978
In the third game in the Pixel Ripped series, Pixel Ripped 1978 see’s you facing off again against the evil Cyblin Lord, who is trying to hack into your past.
Survivorman VR
Survival expert Les Stroud helps you stay alive on a freezing mountainside in this game coming to Meta Quest 2.
Floor Plan 2
A comedic escape room adventure that was originally released in 2021 will be getting 2-3 hours of new content and releasing on PC VR on June 22nd and is out now on Meta Quest.
Powerwash Simulator
Take the relaxing elements of power washing to virtual reality in Powerwash Simulator VR when it releases on Meta Quest in 2023.
B99
The 80s-inspired visuals of B99 and dungeon crawling are arriving on PSVR 2 this month.
Requisition
The ‘survival update’ for Requisition will have you combining shovels, tape and more when the update launches later this year on Steam VR.
Espire 2 – Mixed Reality Missions
Digital Lode has revealed a free update coming to Espire 2 later this year that’ll add mixed reality missions to the game on Meta Quest 3, Quest 2, and Quest Pro.
Drums Rock
Drums Rock is leaving Early Access and bringing new DLC in the future, including a tease for Undertale DLC.
Dyschornia Chronos Alternate – Episode 3
The final episode of Dyschornia: Chronos Alternate will release on July 13th, wrapping up the story on Meta Quest 2 and PSVR 2.
Sushi Ben
Suishi Ben was just seen in the Wholesome Showcase 2023, and here’s a new trailer showing off all the game elements where you are trying to stop a Suhishi business from shutting down.
Puttzzle
It’s puzzling and golfing at the same time in Puttzle.
The Burst
This is a very face-paced trailer showcasing the free-running and shooting you’ll be doing in The Burst releases later in 2023.
Crossfire Sierra Squad
Here’s some new gameplay of Crossfire: Sierra Squad, which is releasing in August for SteamVR and PS VR2.
Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye
Developer Peanut Button said you can play the first game to enjoy Retropolis 2: Never Say Goodbye.
The first episode of the second game is out now, and a season pass gets you access to the rest of the game episodes as they release.
Budget Cuts Ultimate
After releasing on Meta Quest 2 and PS VR2 earlier this month, Budget Cuts Ultimate will release on September 7th for PC.
No More Rainbows
No new footage was shown, but No More Rainbows is getting post-launch support.
Dungeon Full Dive
From a map builder allowing you to build towns or dangerous dungeons to the creation of your character. Dungeon Full Dive looks like the ultimate tabletop RPG extension for players.
Sand And Hand
Draw with your sand and hands in Sand and Hand, which is coming to Pico Quest in 2023.
Chrono Hunter
In Chrono Hunter, you travel through time and explore different worlds and environments. The trailer shows plenty of weapons and enemies, from guns to magic staffs.
Chrono Hunter is releasing on Steam VR.
Teahouse Of Souls
Here’s a more wholesome VR game. Have tea with souls to help comfort them before they move on in Teahouse of Souls.
Teahouse of Souls will release on Meta Quest, Pico and Steam VR later this year.
Real VR Fishing
A new DLC pack is coming to Real VR Fishing later this year. The new pack will include 15 new locations, which include Liberty Island, Niagara Falls, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
U.S. East DLC will arrive in September for Quest and Pico.
Octonic
Octonic is a VR workout game that can be used off-treadmills. However, it is designed with them in mind. And the team are bringing four new routes for you to run on Meta Quest devices.
Grim Lord
Grimlord is a dark fantasy RPG where you escape prison and then set off on an adventure with spells, weapons and the open plains & roads ahead.
Battle Bows
In Battle Bows, you can team up with up to four other players in Quick Play or Private Lobbies and then work solo or alone to defend your castle.
Micro Machines
Create micro machine tracks in VR or MR spaces, and then race the cars across your tracks.
Final Fury
Klurge Interactive, the team behind Synth Riders, is creating something new with Final Fury, a fighting game.
Final Fury is coming to all major VR platforms, and a closed beta is coming soon.
Broken Spectre
Broken Spectre has you exploring the woods looking for your missing father in this Cosmic Horror adventure that’s coming to Meta Quest on June 21st.
A Fisherman’s Tale
A Fisherman’s Tale will be released on PS VR2 soon.
Yupitergrad 2: The Lost Station
This new trailer gives a release date of “later this year” for Yupitergrad 2,” which is coming to Quest, PC VR and Vive XR Elite.
Low-Fi
Low-Fi is a cyberpunk RPG life-sim where you as the sheriff of Cityblock 303.
Liminal Phase
Get sucked into a 90s shooter, solve puzzles, and survive when Liminal Phase releases on all major VR platforms later this year.
RagnaRock
A new DLC pack for RagnaRock will add a new environment, a new pair of hammers, a new longship and six new tracks from Sabaton.
The DLC will be available on June 22nd.
Synapse
This gameplay drive gives us a good look the upcoming PS VR 2 shooter.
Arashi Castles Of Sin: Final Cut
This is a remaster of the 2021 PSVR game, which has been upgraded in both visuals and the way players will control the game.
