Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Adds HDR + New Level

by Dylan Blight

The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy has released on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and
PC via Steam for the first time, sporting some new features that PS4 players
(where the game has been available since June 2017) can also download today.

PS4 owners can grab a patch that enables HDR visuals on all PS4s with a compatible TV.
The added HDR is a nice visual boost on top of the 4K resolution already available on PS4 Pro.

Additionally, load times have been reduced substantially with Vicarious Visions’ new
“Nitro Loading Technology.” Kyle Martin, a producer at Vicarious Visions, explained the update on the

PS Blog
:

“With this new loading behaviour, the game will start loading level content into memory predictively while you play,
in addition to dynamically keeping the most frequently used assets in memory.”

You can download two new levels from the PlayStation Store free of charge. The first,
Stormy Ascent, is the previously unfinished level for Crash Bandicoot—it’s back after a limited
availability window and it’s tough. You’ll find it atop the final island next to the final boss stage.

Future Tense is a brand-new level developed by Vicarious Visions for
Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. It’s challenging—though not as punishing as Stormy Ascent.
Look for the elevator platform in the level-select hub to access it.

With the trilogy now on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, the original
Crash Bandicoot trilogy (plus DLC) is available outside of the PlayStation ecosystem for the first time—
it’s a great moment to be a bandicoot fan.
