There are more than a few steelbooks for me to look forward to picking up in September, and most of these are from 2025 films, which are finally making their way to physical media. There are also special or limited editions to pick up from boutique publishers, as well as exciting new 4K releases of classic films.

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, Karate Kid: Legends, and How to Train Your Dragon, as well as The Last of Us: Season 2, are all receiving steelbooks alongside their regular releases this month. As is Blade Runner: The Final Cut, which is the best version of this film I’ve previously owned, so hopefully there’s nothing in this new release that ruins that in any way.

Anime fans will want to keep their eyes out for the release of a Limited Edition collection for Solo Levelling: Season 1. Sure to sell out quickly, especially given its current popularity as an anime.

And then it comes to older films making their 4K debut this month, there’s more than a couple, but the release of Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal are two I’m hoping turn out to look good, as I’d love to see the colour and detail pop in these films more than they’ve ever been able to do so before.

Here are all the 4Ks, Blu-rays and DVDs releasing in Australia in September 2025.
