Nintendo graced September with a massive Nintendo Direct featuring all sorts of announcements and surprises. The show opened with Shigeru Miyamoto talking about the Super Mario Bros 40th Anniversary, the theme park, museum, and then dropping a teaser for the Super Mario Galaxy movie, which is releasing in April 2026.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2
The classic Wii games are coming to Nintendo Switch in one package and will be released on October 2. Mario and Rosalina are also getting new Amiibos for these games.
Mario Tennis Fever
There’s a narrative mode where Mario and friends are turned into babies and have to learn to play tennis. Online players have options for difficulty to help with matchmaking, and the core new function is the ability to change tennis rackets through ‘fever shots.’
Mario Tennis Fever is releasing on February 12, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2.
Super Mario Bros Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park
In Bellabel Park, you’ll take part in a bunch of mini-games with friends. They look family-focused, but there was a tease of new levels coming also in this latest addition, but more details weren’t shared.
Talking Flower

Nintendo brought the Nintendo Flowers in Super Mario Bros Wonder to life, and they’re releasing in 2026.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
This hand-drawn-inspired art style looks gorgeous, and as with all recent Yoshi games, the overall vibe here is very cute.
This one is set to release in 2026.

Storm Lancers
This co-op rogue-like is coming to Nintendo Switch later today.
Dinkum
The Australian life-sim Dinkum is launching as a timed console exclusive on November 6 on Nintendo Switch.
Popucom
This is a co-op only game where each character can only use certain abilities and skills for different colours, and you’ll need to work together to solve puzzles and take on the game’s challenges.
Popucom is releasing later this year.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
The game has been delayed into early 2026, but the latest trailer also continues to give me insane vibes.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection
The collection of Mortal Kombat games and also a documentary inside the game is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 302025.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
The remake of FF7 is making its way to Nintendo Switch 2 on January 22, 2026.
Lynked: Banner of the Spark
This one is launching on Nintendo Switch 2 later today.
Hades II
A brand new and very cinematic trailer for Hades II has signalled its upcoming full 1.0 release, which will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 25, 2025.
Kirby Air Riders Amiibo
Kirby is getting some cute new Amiibos that level up as you continue to race with these new Amiibos.
These will be available on November 20 when the game launches
Kirby Air Riders is getting a second Nintendo Direct at some point in the future.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
A new trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, but most importantly, a release date.
The game is releasing on November 6.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined
The remake of Dragon Quest VII looks very charming, and it’s set to release on February 5, 2026, on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Nintendo Classics – Virtual Boy
The Virtual Boy games are coming to Nintendo Switch & Nintendo Switch 2. And there’s a dedicated accessory coming that’ll be available for pre-order today, and there’ll be a way to play using a cardboard version of it as well, somehow. This is a very funny announcement to me.
Look forward to going old-school-3D when the Virtual Boy games release on the Expansion Pass of Nintendo Online on February 17, 2026.
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly – Remake
The remake of Fatal Frame II is set to arrive sometime in early 2026.

New levels, a town to explore, and online co-op are coming in this sequel, which is coming later this year.
Suika Game Planet
The fruit-matching phenomenon continues with this release later this year.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
A brand-new trailer and a release date for Metroid Prime 4 confirm that the game is coming in December, and some amiibos are also being released.

Donkey Kong Bananza – DK Island & Emerald Rush DLC
Explore DK’s home island and take on the new Emerald Rush mode in this new DLC for Donkey Kong Bananza, releasing today on Nintendo Switch.
Pokémon: Pokopia
In this new Pokémon game coming to Nintendo Switch 2, you’ll be playing as a Ditto that has transformed into human form and is working to shape and build an island to grow and look after the other Pokémon on it. Basically, it seems like Pokémon Crossing.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A
A new trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A focused on the new Mega Evolution Pokémon that are appearing in this game.

A DLC was also announced, which introduces two Raichu Mega Evolutions — although it is always weird hearing about DLC like this so much ahead of the release of the game itself.
Danganronpa 2×2
A remaster of Danganronpa 2 is releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 with a new scenario and kill that can alter the events of the story.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Both the core game and its upcoming DLC will be released simultaneously on January 22, 2026, for Nintendo Switch.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
Nothing new on the information front, but a cool new look at the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 3.
