The Age of Empires team has shared their plans for 2025, including new expansions and bringing Age of Empire’s games to PlayStation.

Both Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Mythology: Retold is coming to PlayStation 5, with Age of Mythology: Retold being the first to release on March 4. They’ll include all the same content that’s on Xbox and PC already. Players on PlayStation can also purchase the Immortal Pillars expansion. And then this Spring, Age of Empire II: Definitive Edition will be released on PS5 in time for the new major expansion release, which the team are saying is:
“one of the most exciting DLC expansions for Age II: DE yet, packed with fresh new content, new civilizations for Ranked play, and ready for all players to enjoy together across all platforms – PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5.”
If you want to jump into Age of Mythology: Retold early on PS5, you can pre-order for 5-day early access and two exclusive blessings.
Age of Mythology: Retold will receive the Immortal Pillars expansion on March 4, and players can pre-order it now. This expansion will add the Chinese pantheon, new maps, a myth unit, and gameplay features. Players who own Age of Mythology – Retold Premium Edition will get this expansion at no extra cost.
As the expansion news continues, Age of Empire IV will also receive two new DLCs in 2025.

Age of Empires Mobile is also getting a bunch of new features and events in February:
- Battle of Dawn: A campaign set in a legendary temple is about to unfold. Secure ultimate victory by transporting temple relics and employing class skills. With four stages leading to cross-server combat, there’s plenty to look forward to.
- Stellar Glory: This new event activates a battle zone mode letting you face off against governors from different kingdoms.
- Valentine’s Day Cosmetics: Obtain exclusive themed items like the Heart Hunter’s Circus Citadel Theme and Passionate Reverie Troop Set.
- Josephine’s Treasure Hunt: Follow Princess Josephine and compete in three events; Celestial Chronicles, Path of Starlight and Alchemist’s Secret Art. Earn dice items to roll and earn points. Move around a game board to earn rewards!
The team also shared a code [Code: AoEMVLTN] which will work for the first 20k users to redeem it.
