Devolver returned to E3 2021 with their annual event that features a continuing narrative adventure of Nina Struthers and some game announcements.
This year Devolver Digital’s event was titled ‘Devolver Digital Forwarder’ and took us further in the “future’s future” with monetization services with their announcement of Devolver Max Pass Plus in kayfabe.

Here’s what games were shown amongst all the craziness of the Devolver Forwarder event.
Shadow Warrior 3

A violent a bloody look at Shadow Warrior 3 which is releasing for PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2021.
Trek To Yomi
<div class="sqs-video-wrapper" data-provider-name="YouTube" data-html="

Again, violent, but this time with a grey-scale 2.5D art style. Set during feudal Japan, you play as a samurai and it’s hard not to think about Ghost of Tshsima while watching the trailer.
Trek to Yomi is releasing in 2022.
Phantom Abyss

A new gameplay trailer for Phantom Abyss highlights the unique games design and Indian Jones-inspired whip action.
Phantom Abyss is launching in early access on PC on June 22nd.
Wizard With A Gun

A cinematic trailer introduced Wizard with a Gun, a co-op survival sandbox with a unique art style.
The description for the game explains that you’ll set out into a “magical wilderness” alone or with friends, and you’ll be able to customize your weapons, bullets and more while building your wizard tower home.
Wizard with a Gun is releasing on Nintendo Switch and PC in 2022.
Death’s Door
<div class="sqs-video-wrapper" data-provider-name="YouTube" data-html="
“>
A brand new trailer for Death’s Door showcases the brutal combat, wonderfully weird cast of characters and the bizarre world in which it all takes place.
I’ve been awaiting this release date announcement, and it’s only right around the corner! Deaths Door will release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on July 20th.
Inscryption
<div class="sqs-video-wrapper" data-provider-name="YouTube" data-html="

At first, the trailer for Inscryption looks like just another deck-building game, but things quickly get more interesting. About halfway into the trailer, the player character stands up from the table and looks around the room, solving puzzles, almost like it’s an escape room. Later in the trailer, there’s actual footage of someone digging up a floppy disk and other oddities. Coming from the developer of Pony Island, I’m expecting this to be full of surprises.
Inscryption is releasing in 2021.
A free-to-play mobile game that will have microtransactions. I don’t know what this game is. I don’t know if you can satire mobile games while also charging for microtransactions either, but we shall see!
The team that made Gato Roboto delivers Demon Throttle, a throw-back top-down shooter. The catch with this one is that it’s a physical exclusive. Yes, no digital, only physical. You can pre-order it here.
That’s everything announced during the Deolver Forwarder Showcase. If you’d like to watch the entire event, which I’d suggest as it’s just insane as usual, it’s below.
