The annual Opening Night Live show, hosted by Geoff Keighley to open Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, usually brings some mid-level announcements, with the big stuff saved from Keighley’s Game Awards Show. This year, it wasn’t any different, with the show kicking off on a teaser for Borderlands 4 and ending with one for a new Mafia game.

Borderlands 4

The film might not be doing well at the box office, but fans of the games can look forward to a new coming in the Borderlands series coming in 2025.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

A long gameplay video of the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 campaign focuses on a mission to save Adler from attempter assignation. It’s a very cinematic gameplay trailer, as you’d expect from Call of Duty, but the standout here is how the new omnidirectional movement system allows dives and slides never seen in the series before.

Dune: Awakening

Our most in-depth look at the gameplay of Dune: Awakening showcases the harsh sands of Arakis as well as all the Dune things that fans of the books/movies will be happy to see in the game. You get to create your own character, work with the Harakdens, and, of course, dodge sandworms.

Reanimal

From the studio that made the first two Little Nightmares games comes Reanimal, which looks like Little Nightmares but on acid. There are a lot of creepy animal creatures in this trailer, but it’s the person on the small bicycle chasing the two characters down a hallway that got my ike vibes off.
