Nintendo had one last Indie World Showcase up its sleeve for 2023.
The November 2023 Indie World Showcase featured a bunch of games coming in 2024, with a lot of vague release dates, as well as a few games sneaking in before the end of this year. There are two shadow drops on the Nintendo Switch today, while a couple of other games will either be released before the end of the year or get some demos to check out ahead of 2024.
Here are all the trailers and news from this morning’s Indie World Showcase.\
Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution
This was originally meant to be a GameBoy Advance game and a sequel to the first Shante game that was on the GameBoy Colour. Now, developer WayForward Games is finally getting to finish the game, and they’re adding some new stuff, including a 4-player battle mode.
Coming to Nintendo Switch in 2024.
Core Keeper
Play alone or with up to eight players in Core Keeper, a game with mining, fighting monsters, dungeon crawling, base building and more.
Coming to Nintendo Switch in Winter 2024.
On Your Tail
With a cast of anamorphic characters and mysteries to solve, this game looks charming and is bound to tickle the detective itch.
A timed console exclusive for the Nintendo Switch, launching in 2024.
Howl

With some gorgeous art, this turn-based folktale game looks well worth checking out, and even better, it’s a shadow drop.
Howl is out now on Nintendo Switch, and there’s a free demo as well.
The Star Named Eos
This is the new game from the same developer as Behind the Frame, and it has the same level of beautiful art, but this time, the gameplay is focused on experiencing memories through photos and not the painting in their previous game.
Launching on Nintendo Switch in Autumn 2024.
Backpack Hero
Backpack Hero is taking inventory management, the part most people usually hate in games, and making it the crux of the gameplay in this very interesting twist on a roguelike.
Another shadow drop, Backpack Hero, is out today on Nintendo Switch.
Blade Chimera
This looks like a Metroidvania, in which you have a demon sword. That’s pretty cool.
A timed console exclusive for Nintendo Switch, launching in Autumn 2024.
A Highland Song
One of the upcoming indie games I’ve been waiting for a release date for is coming to Nintendo Switch next month. In A Highland Song, you’re exploring the Scottish Highlands, platforming and listening to beautiful music.
Launching on Nintendo Switch on December 5, 2023.
Moonstone Island
The very cute Moonstone Island is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2024. In this life-sim, you’re collecting Spirits, exploring many islands, crafting potions, building relationships and doing card-based encounters. It launched on PC in September to positive reviews.
A timed console exclusive for the Nintendo Switch, launching in Autumn 2024.
Death Trick: Double Blind
There was a detective game earlier in this showcase, but Death Trick: Double Blind is a visual novel whodunnit set in a circus that looks very intriguing.
Death Trick is coming to Nintendo Switch first in 2024. A demo is available now.
Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Editon
After being announced several Indie World Showcases’ ago, Outer Wilds is now coming to Nintendo Switch so players can unravel the secrets of its galaxy in the palm of their hands.
