The very secretive direct that’ll follow the Xbox Games Showcase on June 10th has been revealed to be Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

This will be the first Black Ops game since 2020’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It’s also going to be the first Call of Duty game released since Microsoft purchased Activision. This game obviously would have been in developer long before that deal closed. However, it may not be since the deal started, as it took a very long time.

Aside from rumours surrounding when the game is set in the Black Ops timeline, there’s also a big question about where it’ll be released. Not so much the PlayStation and Nintendo side of things, but if the game will launch on Xbox Games Pass at launch. If it does, it’ll be a big move by Xbox and show their efforts to double down on the service by putting a game that is a guaranteed seller out for free for many players.
