Wizards of the Coast has announced that Magic: The Gathering players will be planes-walking to Middle-Earth next year. 

Releasing in Q3, 2023, MTG – The Lord of the Rings: Tales From Middle-Earth will be a fully draftable and Modern Legal set featuring stunning artwork depicting all your favourite Hobbits and Wizards from Middle-Earth. 

The cards can’t contain the epic nature of Lord of The Rings to singular cards, so the set will feature mass artworks on borderless cards that can be showcased by gathering all the cards necessary to make up the whole picture. Shown during this morning’s Wizards Presents event was a sprawling 18 cards piece that depicts The Battle of Pelennor Fields, the greatest battle for the rings that took place at Minas Tirith. 

Magic: The Gathering – The Lord of the Rings: Tales From Middle Earth will also release on Magic: The Gathering Arena as an Alchemy set.
