In a string of video game adaptations that could be getting worked on, one for Riders Republic, the extreme sports-based open-world, multiplayer-focused title, wouldn’t have been one I’d have on my bingo card — yet here we are.
Riders Republic doesn’t feature any characters now, nor has a narrative to string together what you’re doing. Instead, it lets players explore how they want and take part in the action of BMXing, skiing, snowboarding, and flying in wingsuits around massive areas. Recently, skateboarding was also added to the game. The movie would presumably focus on the world and vibe of the game, which is one of colour and extreme sports all colliding in a visceral way.
The news comes from Deadline, which reported that Adil and Bilall Fallah are set to produce a movie adaptation of Riders Republic. The pair is most known for directing Bad Boys For Life, Bad Boys: Ride or Die and their unreleased Batgirl movie from 2022.
Would you be interested in checking out the Riders Republic film, or do you think this is an odd project for the Fallahs to be working on?
