A24 and Netflix Team Up for an Overcooked Unscripted Series Adaptation

One of the wildest pairings I’ve read in my life is that A24 has acquired the rights to adapt Overcooked and is working with Netflix to develop an unscriped series based on the video game. However, that’s exactly what Deadline is reporting.

A cooking show for Netflix makes sense; it’s the A24 pairing that’ll have my head scratching for some time yet. Nonetheless, according to Deadline, the series is “said to be in the vein of such established Netflix reality shows with family appeal as Nailed It! and Floor Is Lava.”

I really hope they go all-out in designing the sets and games for the contestants to go through in this series. As anyone can tell you, Overcooked is less a cooking game than a game of teamwork and communication. And I hope there’s some moving floor elements and crazy set design as well to keep things lively.
