Do You Wanna Watch – Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World?
Next week on What Do You Wanna Watch? we’ll be discussing the Russell Crowe commanding film, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.
Based on the novels by Patrick O’Brian, directed by Peter Weir and starring Russell Crowe, Paul Bettany and James D’Arcy, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World was released in 2003 amidst the height of Crowe stardom. He was coming off the Academy Award–winning A Beautiful Mind and was headed for something different with a film set during the Napoleonic Wars.
If you’ve watched the film before, or will be joining in watching it with us, let us know what you think in the comments below, on our Discord, or Twitter.
As always we’ll be discussing the movie at the end of the podcast after covering the latest in media news.
Official Synopsis: “During the Napoleonic Wars, a brash British captain pushes his ship and crew to their limits in pursuit of a formidable French war vessel around South America.”
