Closing out the Geoff Keighley hosted Opening Night Live event and start to Gamescom 2020 was a gameplay demo of Insomniac Games upcoming PS5 exclusive, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. It’s as impressive as it was when we saw it a couple of months ago for the first time and, we now know it’ll be a “launch window” release for the PS5.
The full gameplay lasts a bit over 7-minutes and although some of this had been seen previously when the game was revealed, seeing a nice chunk of uncut gameplay is refreshing.
Another interesting tidbit that came from the post gameplay interview was that the game is indeed following the main Ratchet & Clank timeline, meaning this game takes place after Into the Nexus. That was the last mainline entry into the franchise which released on PS3 back in 2013.
We still don’t know the PS5’s release date or even window. But at least we know we can expect to play Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart sometime soon to when it does release.
