Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves were revealed during the Pokémon Presents – Pokémon Day 2026 stream early this morning, and the first look at the upcoming 10th Generation game looks to feature a lot of water.
The trailer starts with two Pikachu in holiday outfits waving us into the new journey, and they have names, Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu. Check out the full reveal trailer below.
Following the stream, some additional details were revealed on the Pokémon website, including that it is indeed exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and that the game features a large open world that takes you from land to sea.
Details on the new starter Pokémon give better insight into each Pokémon’s personality. The grass starter Browt is described as ” lively but clumsy Bean Chick Pokémon, the firestarter Pombon is “guileless and friendly Puppy Pokémon,” and the water starter Gecqua is described as the “intelligent Water Gecko Pokémon.”

Depending on which version of the game you pick up, you’ll also have a slightly different outfit for your main character.

Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are set to release in 2027, exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2.
