Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has sold-in 3.5 million copies during its first two weeks. Ubisoft has also said in its recent report that the remake has already exceeded its internal expectations for the entire financial year.
Released on July 9, Ubisoft said the game has received strong critical and player reception, currently holding review scores of 84 on both OpenCritic and Metacritic. According to Ubisoft, it is the highest-rated Assassin’s Creed release since the original Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag launched in 2013.
Ubisoft described the launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced as an early example of its ongoing “transformation strategy,” crediting improvements to its Anvil engine and renewed focus on quality.
In the same earnings report, Ubisoft stated that the next two financial years will see releases across the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon IPs, as well as continued support and investment in live-service games like Rainbow Six Siege.
The publisher also confirmed that more “premium titles based on established Ubisoft franchises” will be announced later during the current financial year.
