‘A Quiet Place’ Sequel Headed For 2020

John Krasinski is returning to write and direct the sequel to his huge 2018 horror hit, A Quiet Place which will be released in 2020.

The news comes via The Hollywood Reporter who reported on the changes Paramount Pictures had made to its upcoming release calendar.

No details for what the sequel is about have been confirmed although Krasinski had previously teased the idea of seeing the characters behind one of the many bonfires we see light up around the Abbott home.

Of course, the obvious choice the for the film’s story is following Emily Blunt’s character Evelyn Abbott, as she attempts to keep her new family together while battling off the hordes of monsters — could make for a more action-packed sequel. She also has a newborn baby to still deal with, raising it in the hell-world they live in and simultaneously dealing with a family mourning the loss of their Father.

In my review of A Quiet Place I said:

A Quiet Place is a brave cinematic experience that works wonderfully as long as no one beside you is shovelling popcorn in their mouth the entire film. With strong performances all around and an especially physically strong performance from Blunt amid pure terror, that will go down as one of the year’s tensest scenes, it’s not a movie you will forget fast.
