League of Legends: Wild Rift, the mobile version of the ever-popular MOBA is beginning to roll out into early beta soon. A first look at gameplay was revealed during a Sumer Game Fest stream this morning and Riot looks to be doing a pretty amazing job at bringing the game to mobile.

The game looks great both visually, and how it is being designed to play on mobile, strong and of high calibre. Wild Rift uses a twin-stick control scheme, be that using an actual controller (no solid confirmation of which Bluetooth controllers will be compatible) or the on-screen twin-stick controller and it looks smooth, fluid and perfect for the platform.

For those wondering about the console version, there was no information given. It is coming. But you can get some ideas about what that console version may look like given it’s easy to assume that will too, use this twin-stick control scheme in a similar fashion to the mobile game.

The Wild Rift map is very similar to Summoners Rift in the PC version, and overall most of the abilities and items are the same as the original game. Some tweaks to abilities have been made for the controls and Riot noted they’ve made an effort to speed up the length of the games to better suit the mobile platform.

Riot also today confirmed a list of characters that will be coming to the game. No, they don’t have the full roster at launch, but it is rather lengthy at 36 strong.
