HBO Max has released our first proper look at the upcoming Lanterns series, which will debut in August.
The series stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, the original Earth Lantern, and Aaron Piierre as the newcomer, John Stewart. However, instead of a very sci-fi/fantasy series, as you may expect, especially if you’ve only watched the terrible Ryan Reynolds movie, this trailer gives off very small-town American murder-mystery vibes. We see Hal fly for a moment, and Steward survives a big car crash, but the trailer is very light on proper Green Lantern powers and instead is focused on the relationship between the two leads.
