Every couple of years, it seems a new Alien game is revealed and here’s 2022’s latest attempt for a successful entry. We only got shown a snippet of gameplay, but it looks like a twin-stick shooter, which is something different compared to the third-person and first-person shooters we’d most recently seen.
The “Schofield” cut of the trailer shown at the State of Play, which featured more gore, started things off before giving us our first official gameplay video, ending in brutal death for our protagonist.
The first gameplay video of the sequel to the 2019 reboot of the Modern Warfare showcased a mission on a bot that featured the same tension building cinematic design that made the 2019 games single player so good.

Routine was announced nearly ten years ago, and there’s a great article on Vice digging into what happened to it. But guess what? It’s back! And it looks scary as hell with killer robots; I don’t want to meet.
A trailer showed an archeologist exploring a cave and finding a shield before having to call down a mech friend to fight demon monsters. Frost Giant showed no gameplay, but it is an RTS from ex-Blizzard developers; it’ll be free-to-play, and there’s a beta coming in 2023.

The final DLC for Cuphead is releasing on June 30th and features a new island with bosses, challenging levels and the addition of a new character, Ms Chalice.
If you liked Vermentide, then Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will grab your attention. It’s another four-player co-op 40k game about taking on hordes of enemies, but this one looks (somehow) even more violent. It’s releasing on September 13th.
A showcase video put the spotlight on Nightwing. Future videos will showcase all of the ‘knights.’ The game is still releasing on October 25th, but if you missed the memo, it’s only coming to the current-gen console now.
The Last of Us
Neil Druckman showed up to talk about several projects being worked on, from games to TV.
The Last of Us: Factions is, as many fans had assumed at this stage, a standalone multiplayer game. New is coming next year, but we got our first look via some concept art.
Druckman updated The Last of Us HBO series with an image of Pedro Pascal and Elle Ramsey as Joel and Ellie. Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson came out on stage and announced that they have roles in the show that are more than just cameos. The last day of shooting for the TV series is tomorrow, and Druckman said that we’ll see more from the show “soon.”
Unfortunately, it was leaked overnight before the show, but The Last of Us: Part 1 is coming to PS5 this year and PC later. It’s a from the ground remake of the first game with 60fps, new enemy AI, updated animations and models based on the original performances and it’s, releasing on September 2nd.
