Nintendo’s E3 2021 Direct was a jam-packed 40-minutes with a new Super Smash Bros reveal, the return of Advance Wars, a brand new Metroid game and a trailer for Breath of the Wild 2.
Here are all of the trailers and news from the Nintendo Direct.
Kazuya Mishima from Tekken is hte next fighter to join Smash. A fantastic trailer showcased Kazuya dropping his enemies off a cliff, but Kirby, as the strongest Smash character, escaping.
Look forward to another Smash Direct to dive into Kazuya on June 29th.
Life is Strange Remasted Collection + Life is Strange True Colours are coming to the Nintendo Switch, with True Colours getting a September 10th (launch day) release date, but the remastered games not receiving a release date. However, they’re due out on the 30th on other platforms.
A brand new Metroid game was revealed; it’s the first new one in nearly 20 years and features classic Metroid gameplay. Why has this taken almost 20 years?
Metroid: Dread will launch on October 8th alongside a new amiibo twin-pack featuring Samus and the new robotic monster featured in the trailer.
A brand new trailer for Shin Megami Tensai V showed off gameplay. You can see monsters in the world before entering battles and can talk to them to have them join your team.
Shin Megami Tensai V is launching exclusively on November 12th on Nintendo Switch.
The game’s development has steadily been progressing, and today Nintendo showcased a brand new trailer for what we’re referring to as Breath of the Wild 2.
A brand new trailer showed what looked like a demon Ganondorf. It mostly showcased how you’ll be exploring the sky of Hyrule upon floating islands and castles in this sequel, and that possibly explains the re-release of Skyward Sword as well.
This was a gorgeous looking trailer, and I do want to note they only gave a release date of 2022 but failed to mention what console it will release for — if you want to put a Nintendo Switch Pro tin-foil hat on.
The Nintendo Switch Direct transition directly into the Nintendo Treehouse event afterwards, where we’ll learn a bit more information about some of these games. Metroid: Dread is being showcased as a finish typing this up, for example.
