Arbiter Studio has revealed its debut keyboard, the Polar 65. It has a unique style that makes it stand out among the many keyboards I’ve been looking at for Black Friday sales this week, and it sounds like there’s some great technology under the keys.

This 65% compact keyboard looks small, but it’s got a hefty 990g behind it with a CNC aluminium frame, meaning it should be durable and able to survive a long time on your desktop or being chucked into your bag while using it at multiple locations.

The pre-lubed switches inside this keyboard, according to Arbiter, feature 0.1mm to 3.8mm actuation with rapid trigger capabilities. This is thanks to what they’re calling ‘Hall Effect Magnetic Switches.’ In a supplied press release, Arbiter explains it:

“Rapid Trigger instantly activates keys upon press and deactivates upon release, cutting out any physical switch delay, an essential for FPS type gamers seeking lightning-fast key response. And to elevate FPS gaming experience further, these linear switches arrive expertly pre-lubricated, ensuring an unprecedented level of smoothness in every keystroke.”

According to Arbiter, the two layers of silicone and sound dampening will make this a quiet keyboard, and the nano-coated Hall Sensor PCB will make accidental water spills and dust build-up not so much of an issue. I’d still advise cleaning your keyboard.

Branden Sorrentino, the marketing manager of Arbiter Studio, said:

“Our mission is to infuse the latest technology into a custom keyboard. Polar 65 is packed with all the premium features of what the custom keyboard market demands and the tech we want to see in a gaming keyboard – the latest magnetic switch technology with unparalleled control over key activation”.
