[UPDATE: Now Live] ‘Minecraft RTX Beta’ Arrives In A Couple Days
<p class="">Minecraft with RTX beta is going live on April 17th and yes, that is just right around the corner.</p>
UPDATE – 17/04/20
Minecraft’s ray tracing update is finally here and you can now enjoy the beauty of it through the Minecraft RTX beta.
To access the beta, following these steps:

Download the Xbox Insider App from the Microsoft Store on your Windows 10 PC.

Launch the app and if you haven’t already, accept the terms and conditions to take part in the early access content.

On the left-hand side of the app, you’ll see “Insider content,” click on that.

You’ll notice ‘Minecraft for Windows 10’ under games on the following screen, click on that.

Click join and then select join the ‘Minecraft for Windows 10 RTX Beta.’

It’ll make note you must own Minecraft for Windows 10 to play the beta, so if you don’t, know might be the time to purchase it.

After clicking accept the app shall load for some time and then you’ll be good to go.

You may have to update Minecraft now or be forced to reinstall the game.

When you launch Minecraft you’ll be greeted with a message telling you about the RTX content and beta.

Be sure to head to the store to download the free RTX worlds.

October 2019 may seem like ten years ago now but that’s when I got the chance to check out Minecraft with RTX and I loved it. Ever since then I’ve been wondering when the update would be releasing and I’m happy to reveal that it’s coming soon.
Minecraft with RTX beta is going live on April 17th and yes, that is just right around the corner.
What I played last year blew my socks off and I’ve been repeating the same thing to people since then: don’t underestimate Minecraft with RTX just because of the pixel style.

With this news comes several new pieces of information as well as a brand new trailer featuring gorgeous reasons to care about Minecraft with RTX-On.
At beta launch, there will be six creator maps for free on the Minecraft Marketplace.
They are:

‘Of Temples & Totems’ – Razzleberries.
A temple, jungle world with quests and interactive puzzles. -
‘Imagination Island’ – by Blockworks.
RTX theme park. -
‘Crystal Palace’ – by GeminiTay
Survival world featuring a castle and plenty of treasure to find. -
‘Aquatic Adventure’ – by Dr_Bond
Underwater puzzle and adventure map. -
‘Colour, Light & Shadow’ – by PearlescentMoon
RTX tutorial world with several rooms designed to show off lighting including a mirror room. -
‘Neon District’ – by Elysium Fire
A Cyberpunkish city that shows off many different colours and lights.
Check out the trailer below of brand new footage below which shows off the free maps that have been created by well-known Minecraft content creators.
Minecraft will also be getting DLSS 2.0 support, Nvidia’s recent bigger and better version of DLSS that by all accounts has been a huge improvement on the technology. If you don’t know, DLSS works with an AI system to produce low-quality images before super-sampling them up to higher resolutions, like 4K, for example.
In the example, I and others were given in a media briefing the two images we were shown with DLSS 2.0 on and off weren’t hugely noticeable until the aliasing on a lamp in the background was pointed out, however, the numbers do speak for themselves and with DLSS 2.0 on at 1080p Minecraft will apparently run 1.7% faster, which is an increase of 70% in your frames.
