20th Century Studios has released the first teaser trailer and poster for Whalefall, an adaptation of Daniel Kraus’ bestselling novel of the same name.
Directed by Brian Duffield, the film follows Jay Gardiner, played by Austin Abrams, who travels to the coast of California following the death of his father in search of his remains. The journey, however, quickly turns into a nightmare when Jay is swallowed whole by a massive sperm whale. And with only an hour of oxygen left, Jay must rely on the lessons taught to him by his father if he hopes to survive.

The film also stars Josh Brolin, Elisabeth Shue, John Ortiz, Jane Levy and Emily Rudd.
Whalefall opens in Australian cinemas on October 15.
