The Australian Speedrun Marathon 2026 (ASM2026) kicks off this week, with speedrunners from around the country heading to Adelaide for six days of live gameplay, community events and fundraising in support of Game On Cancer.
This year’s event will once again take place at the Adelaide Rockford Hotel and run from July 14-19, with the goal of speedrunning games, all in the name of raising money for much-needed cancer research. Fans will be able to either watch the event in person or live on the ‘AusSpeedruns’ Twitch channel.
This year’s marathon features a huge lineup of games, including Donkey Kong Bananza, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Pokémon Platinum, F-Zero GX, Spyro: Year of the Dragon, Halo 5: Guardians, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
Last year’s event raised more than $50,000 AUD for Game On Cancer, with organisers hoping to build on that result in 2026.

It is about bringing people together, celebrating the skill and dedication of our runners, and using that energy to make a real difference.”
Emma Kirkman, Head of Fundraising at Cure Cancer, said that the AusSpeedruns community has become an important part of the Game On Cancer initiative.
“Their passion, generosity and commitment show exactly what can happen when people rally around something they love and turn it into real impact for cancer research.”
Tickets for ASM2026 are available for $40 AUD, while anyone can support the fundraiser by watching the marathon live and donating throughout the event.
