Marvel Studios has released the first proper trailer for the upcoming, and sure-to-be massive, Avengers: Doomsday, offering a look at the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe ahead of its release this December.

Directed by returning Infinity War and End Game directors Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday brings together a whole cast of characters from across three different universes as they face Doctor Doom, who is being set up to be a villain unlike anything they’ve encountered before.

In “Avengers: Doomsday,” beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Doom is going to see Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU in a new role, but he’s not the only returning actor. Chris Evans is back as Captain America, and we’re also getting the cast of The Fantastic Four making their crossover debut, alongside returning Fox-era Marvel characters, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, and Rebecca Romijn as their Mutant characters.

The film features one of the MCU’s biggest casts to date, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Mabel Cadena and Tenoch Huerta Mejia.

The latest trailer arrives ahead of the film’s ticket sales opening, and the film will also screen in ‘Infinity Vision’, which is basically Disney’s tag it’s giving to cinemas that meet its benchmark for having big enough, loud enough screens.

Avengers: Doomsday releases in Australian cinemas on December 17, 2026.
