New UK studio Milktooth has revealed Bad Magpie, their debut game, which is a narrative adventure game where you play as a mischievous magpie trying to win the affection of a fallen star.
The game debuted at the Xbox Games Showcase, and in it, you’ll control a one-winged magpie who her flock has abandoned. She becomes obsessed with a mysterious fallen star, believing that collecting shiny trinkets might finally earn the star’s affection.

According to developer Milktooth, the game operates on a playful cartoon logic in which screeching into a megaphone can shatter glass, pecking at flint can start fires, and most puzzles have multiple solutions.
Milktooth is a newly formed independent studio founded by artist Catherine Unger (Tangle Tower, Gibbon: Beyond the Trees), designer Daisy Fernandez (Card Shark, As Dusk Falls) and developer George Batchelor (Bird Alone, South of the Circle). WINGS and the UK Games Fund back the team.
“We can’t wait to share Bad Magpie with the world,” the studio said. “We’re a small team making a ridiculous open-world narrative sandbox game. We only have ourselves to blame.”
Bad Magpie has also been selected as part of the 2026 Tribeca Games Festival.
The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2026.
