Battlefield 6 is adding back one of its long-dormant game modes in a crossover collaboration with Paramount and Top Gun.
This is coming as part of Battlefield 6: Season 5, which is adding narval warfare, as well as this entertainment series’ crossover, which is a first for the series. This season will see new maps, modes, and quality-of-life features, as well as the Top Gun collaboration arriving on August 18.
The crossover brings three characters from Top Gun: Maverick into the game, with Miles Teller returning as Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, Lewis Pullman as Lt. Robert “Bob” Crosshair, and Charles Parnell as Adm. Solomon “Warlock” Bates. The original actors are returning to voice all three characters.
You’ll be able to pilot the F/A-18 Super Hornet and the crossover F-14 Tomcat, alongside new cosmetics inspired by the Top Gun films.
Season 4 begins on July 21 with the ‘Pacific Front’ update, introducing Tsuru Reef, the largest map in Battlefield 6 to date. The new map also marks the arrival of naval warfare, including aircraft carriers with operational flight decks and a Dynamic Wave System that affects boat movement, aiming and visibility during combat.

The second phase launches on August 18, adding the Top Gun content alongside ‘Carrier Strike’, a new mode focused on naval, air and ground combat, and a reimagined version of ‘Wake Island’.
The season concludes on September 15 with the ‘Tidal Strike’ update, which introduces a new collection event centred around naval contracts and challenges.
Season 4 will also add Spectator Mode and Portal Custom Lobbies as part of a broader suite of quality-of-life improvements.
