Following news last week that showrunner Rafe Judkins had left the Prime Video God of War series, a new person has now stepped into the seat to ensure the show’s continued success.

Deadline reports that Ronald D. Moore is taking on the role of showrunner, executive producer, and writer on the Amazon MG and Sony Pictures TV production based on the popular God of War game from PlayStation Studios.

Ronald D. Moore is known for his work on the mega-popular space series Star Trek and the reboot of Battlestar Galactica. As a writer and producer on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and then Star Trek: Voyager, there was plenty of time spent exploring the outer reaches of space before Moore took on Battlestar Galactica in 2003, which went on to span several spin-offs. Moore has most recently been working on the Apple TV+ series, For All Mankind, which tells an alternative history of the space race.

With Sony and Amazon moving fast to get the series back on track, it’s still an important project for them, as well as the upcoming schedule for Prime Video. Hopefully, this is the last time there’s news of it having a showrunner change, and it can get to work casting and shooting soon.
