Bethesda Game Studios has shared an update on the future of the Fallout series and confirmed the long-rumoured remasters of both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
The studio hasn’t shared any new details on either remaster, but confirming them might get fans to stop asking for details at every Xbox Showcase, or maybe it’ll make them ask for more details more often.
We have also learned, thanks to the Bethesda blog post, that Fallout 5 is in pre-production and is the team’s long-term project. The Elder Scrolls 6 remains the studio’s main project, alongside the remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Of course, Fallout 76 will continue to receive support, with the upcoming major expansion, ‘Raven Rock,’ arriving next year, whose story serves as a prequel to Fallout 3.
On the TV front, Amazon Studios and Kilter Films are teaming up with Bethesda for another series after the success of the live-action Fallout series, but this one, based on Fallout Shelter, would be unscripted. How it’s going to work will be interesting to learn more about.
Bethesda said it will celebrate Fallout’s 30th anniversary in 2027 with a live ‘Fallout Day’ event in Washington, D.C.
