Bill & Ted are returning after nearly 30 years and after all that time what have they achieved? Well, not their goal of creating the greatest song of all time.

In the first trailer for Bill & Ted Face the Music we see a struggling, older, Bill and Ted (once again played by Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter) who are facing, once again, a massive problem. It’s up to them to save the world and create the song to reunite everyone. The problem is: they can’t come up with the song.

So what do two 40-something rockers well-past their prime do in this situation? They travel to the future to steal the song of themselves. It’s smart. But we all know it won’t world out that easy and as the end of the trailer teases, the future is a dark place for not only Earth but also Bill & Ted.
